About this book
E. Raymond Hall wrote Mammals Obtained by Dr. Curt von Wedel from the Barrier Beach of Tamaulipas, Mexico, in the University of Kansas Publications, Museum of Natural History. The text asks what species of mammals occur on the “coastal island”, barrier beach, of Tamaulipas. The text says Boca Jesús María is a pass, a tidal inlet, through the long barrier beach.
The text says that the visitors arrived at Boca Jesús María on March 18, 1950, and left on March 22, 1950. The author says that he and Dr. von Wedel saw two tidal inlets that were open when they were being flown back to Brownsville. One type entry for a Hispid Cotton Rat describes a male, adult, skull and skin from an island 88 mi. S and 10 mi. W Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, obtained by E.R. Hall and Curt von Wedel on 22 March 1950.
