About this book
Vance Randolph's Our Insect Enemies was copyrighted in 1925 and has drawings by Peter Quinn. Its chapters cover houseflies, mosquitoes and disease, bedbugs, lice, cockroaches, and chiggers, ticks and fleas.
The housefly pages describe the egg, the maggot, the pupa and the adult fly, and quote Herrick on how many flies one female can produce. The mosquito pages say that malaria is acquired only through the bite of Anopheles mosquitoes, and a figure shows a chart of the seasonal prevalence of malaria in the United States. The flea pages name the human flea and the flea found on cats and dogs, and say each will bite other hosts too.
