About this book
Over Here is credited to Edgar A. Guest. The front matter includes the line To the Mothers Over Here. The index lists many titles, among them Fly a Clean Flag and For Your Boy and Mine.
One piece declares that America has crossed the sea and calls America the land we love. A piece headed The Time for Deeds speaks of courage boasted in moments of ease and of a star-spangled banner flung on the breeze. A piece headed Fly a Clean Flag reports what the speaker heard the Old Flag say on passing it yesterday. One set of lines says the test of a man is how much he will bear for a cause which he knows to be right.
