About this book
The contents of Philosophical Letters of Friedrich Schiller list letters numbered I to V, a section called THEOSOPHY OF JULIUS and a section called ON THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THE ANIMAL AND THE SPIRITUAL NATURE IN MAN. The prefatory remarks say that the reason passes, like the heart, through certain epochs and transitions, but that its development is not so often portrayed. The prefatory remarks also say that degeneracy in morals roots in a one-sided and wavering philosophy, which they call doubly dangerous.
A speaker says that Raphael has taught the speaker to think of being on the way to regret ever having been created. The text speaks of a second class of powers, those which we can account for by the universally-known laws of physics, among them the mechanism of motion and the chemistry of the human body. The text also names sleep as something that, one cannot deny, robs us at least of the third part of our life.
