About this book
Practical Cinematography and Its Applications is by Frederick Arthur Ambrose Talbot. Under the heading How to take Moving-pictures of Wild Animals in Safety, the text says Messrs. Newman built a huge dummy cow fifteen feet in height of papier-mâché, and that the operator stands inside with his camera. The text says the most important duties of a printing machine are to feed the two films evenly and easily through the gate and to hold them flatly and tightly together.
The text says it will be seen that the Williamson is a simple, straightforward machine. The text says that as the pupil advances the films may be varied, and that in the experiments with sulphur he can be shown how sulphur is obtained, while views can be introduced of the mines and processes as practised in Sicily or Louisiana. On the whole, the text says, the hand moving-picture camera is scarcely yet a suitable instrument for beginners.
