About this book

Amy Ballantine keeps a journal in her head, and this science fiction short story by Alan E. Nourse is presented as excerpts from it, starting on a Tuesday in May. She can read minds even at a distance, works at a Study Center under Lambertson, and senses that something is going wrong after he returns from Boston, where he met a psychiatrist she remembers from her time at Bairdsley. It appeared in the 1963 collection The Counterfeit Man.
