About this book
Tasting the Earth is a volume of verses by Mona Gould, with a foreword by B. K. Sandwell. The foreword says the ordinary every-day man and woman are capable of the profoundest depths of feeling and the noblest aspirations. A poem headed Colour In the Willows says "Darling … the colour has come back, in the willows."
A poem headed Promise recalls saying, just in fun, that when the time came we would run away together, just the two. A poem headed Tasting the Earth describes the wind going over the top of the birch trees like a great hand. A poem headed Night Garden says "Here is a silver star Caught in the meshes of the moon."
