About this book
The Auto Boys' Vacation by James A. Braden is illustrated by E. A. Furman. The contents list, among others, the chapters Again the Lonely South Fork Road, The Search Is Continued, Mr. Billy Worth Does Some Thinking and Detective Bob Rack Has Something to Say.
Mr. Peek plainly enjoys the trip, quite silent but with deep, pain-marked eyes that light up noticeably, and at last says, It's a grand thing to be young. Billy, smiling a little sadly, says, “I’m afraid you’re on the wrong track,” and reports that Chief Fobes, at Griffin, says positively that this lost machine and the stealing of their car have no connection with each other. Quinn says that he and another have the dough and offers two hundred of it, provided the listener will turn them loose on the quiet, and the listener answers that he would not be party to turning either Quinn or Horr loose, not if twice that amount were placed in his hands.
