The Boy Scout Treasure Hunters

Charles Henry Lerrigo's book is subtitled "The Lost Treasure of Buffalo Hollow" and is dedicated to his son Frank in the hope that it may help him to be a "good Scout." The title page says it was published with the approval of the Boy Scouts of America. Chapter titles include "Glen Mason Runs Away," "Glen Is Initiated," "Matt Burton's Treasure Find," "J. Jervice and His Gang," "The Bee Tree" and "The Chase on the Motor-Bike."

In one scene a dentist treats Glen Mason, who is told to wait in the reception room until five o'clock and then take the inter-urban car, but at five he rides down in the elevator and, instead of leaving the building, dodges back to the stairway. In another, Glen is told to work out how to unbolt a front door and refuses, and Mr. Jervice asks what is the matter with him for backing out. A further passage has two characters talking about a cave, shale, a loose shelf of rock and the treasure in Treasure Island.
