The text also says goods well made, carefully flavored, and nicely displayed will always command a ready sale at a fair price.
The recipe for popcorn balls says to roast the corn berries over a smokeless fire in a corn popper and keep shaking until every berry has burst. The popcorn ball recipe says to boil sufficient sugar and water to the degree of feather, 245, and to add to each 7 lbs. syrup four ounces of dissolved gum arabic. A recipe for pineapple goods says to pour the mixing into pineapple moulds and keep them in a cold place till set, and advises that in flavoring these goods the pineapple be used gently, only a few drops, as too much spoils them.
