The Bread and Biscuit Baker's and Sugar-Boiler's Assistant is a book by Robert Wells. Among others, a recipe for Digestive Biscuits lists 5 lbs. of wheat meal, 1 lb. of butter, 4 ozs. of sugar, 4 eggs and ¼ oz. of carbonate of soda in 1 quart of water. A recipe for Premium Drops lists 1 lb. butter, 1 lb. sugar, 9 eggs, 1 lb. rice-flour, ¼ oz. voil, 1 lb. flour and 4 drops essence of lemon, and says to proceed the same as for Queen's Drops. An alphabetical list of entries includes Lord Mayor's Biscuits, Lozenges, Lunch Cake and Luncheon Biscuits, among others.
