About this book

The Curlytops at Cherry Farm is by Howard Roger Garis and carries the alternative title Vacation Days in the Country. In one scene the baby called Trouble cuts a hole in a feather bed with scissors, and feathers lie everywhere. The baby says he is going to make a softy-softy cushion for a lame boy to sit on.

Ted whispers to Janet that they are lost, half afraid that Trouble would hear and be frightened. Ted says they are lost, and he gets down out of the wagon and ties Nicknack to a tree. Jan lifts one side of an overturned wagon and hears a cry from underneath, “I want to go home! I want my mamma!”, and Ted gasps that it is Trouble.
