About this book
The Fireside Chats of Franklin Delano Roosevelt are radio addresses to the American people broadcast between 1933 and 1944. The address dated March 12, 1933 begins with the wish to talk for a few minutes with the people of the United States about banking. In the March 12, 1933 address the speaker also wants to tell the listeners what has been done in the last few days, why it was done, and what the next steps are going to be.
In one talk the speaker says that we cannot ballyhoo ourselves back to prosperity and that the speaker is going to be honest at all times with the people of the country. One talk says the most dangerous enemies of American peace are those who, without well-rounded information on the whole broad subject of the past, the present and the future, undertake to speak with assumed authority. The speaker reports that after the Cairo conference, Mr. Churchill and the speaker went by airplane to Teheran, where they met with Marshal Stalin.
