About this book
Harry Leon Wilson is the author of The Lions of the Lord, subtitled A Tale of the Old West, published June, 1903. The foreword says that in the days of ’49 seven trails led from our Western frontier into the Wonderland that lay far out under the setting sun. The text says that Bridger had told them very concisely that he would pay them a thousand dollars for the first ear of corn raised in Salt Lake Valley.
The good man, who had been full of his message a moment before, says to Brother Joel, “You see the Lord has moved me to add another star to my crown.” The Bishop slaps a man cordially on the back and tells him to hearten up, saying his pa has been made a martyr and has beautified his inheritance in Zion.
