About this book
The plums of New York is presented as part of the report of the New York Agricultural Experiment Station for the year 1910. The report says the volume's data result from long-continued studies and observations at the institution as well as throughout the State. A plant description specifies leaves folded upward and an oval or slightly obovate shape, with flowers appearing after the leaves and bearing a white colour.
Sauvageon is identified as raised from seed by Henry Corse of Montreal, Canada, with a strong, vigorous, hardy and productive tree, dark blue fruit and sweet, firm flesh. The discussion of Chalco says reports leave its commercial prospects doubtful, while the trees, in the East at least, are slow in coming into bearing.
