About this book
The Prussian Terror is by Alexandre Dumas, in a first translation from the French by R.S. Garnett. The contents list chapters titled Berlin, The House of Hohenzollern, Count von Bismarck, The Two Duels and The Battle of Langensalza. One scene tells of a tempest of threats, howls, and hurrahs from one end of Unter den Linden to the other, with shouts of Long live King William, Hurrah for Prussia and Down with France.
Count Platen replies verbally to the Prince of Issemburg that His Majesty the King of Hanover declines the proposals of His Majesty the King of Prussia, as he is constrained to do by the laws of the Confederation. A man named Benedict sends in his name to General Sturm and says that the succession of misfortunes which has befallen the Chandroz family leaves him free, earlier than he expected.
