About this book

The Star Mouse is by Fredric Brown. The text says Mitkey the mouse wasn't Mitkey then, but just another mouse who lived behind the floorboards and plaster of the house of the great Herr Professor Oberburger, formerly of Vienna and Heidelberg. The text says that night after night, day after day, month after month the gleaming thing grew, and that it was about three and a half feet long, with weirdly shaped vanes.

A character named Klarloth shakes his head thoughtfully when asked if they should destroy something before it gets here, and says to look it over. Klarloth says “May save us a trip to Earth; we can judge their present state of development pretty well from the rocket itself.” The Herr Professor tells Mitkey “I haff Minnie. Your vife, I guess it iss, unless there vas other mices around.”
