About this book
Supplements to the second, third and fourth books of Schopenhauer's main work fill this third volume, in the translation by R. B. Haldane and J. Kemp. They carry the argument further on instinct, matter and the will in nature, then on genius, the arts and the metaphysics of music, and finally on heredity, ethics and the denial of the will to live. A short appendix and an index close the volume. This copy follows the sixth edition of 1909.
