The contents list includes, among others, chapters headed "OFF FOR MESOPOTAMIA", "PATROLLING THE RUINS OF BABYLON" and "BAGHDAD SKETCHES". The text says "Busra, our destination, lies about sixty miles from the mouth of the Shatt el Arab". The writer says "We steamed up past the Island of Abadan, where stand the refineries of the Anglo-Persian Oil Company."
General Cassels, "who had commanded the cavalry brigade so ably throughout the advance", wished "to return to Ana on the following morning in order to check up the thoroughness with which the dump had been destroyed." The writer says "The general noticed that I had a kodak and asked me to go out into the dump and take some photographs." The writer says "On the 1st of December we once more resumed our march and at Wormeldange crossed over the Moselle River into Hunland."
