Laura Miller
Laura Miller brings an informal teaching style to plant-based cooking. Raw. Vegan. Not Gross. grew from the Tastemade video series she created and hosted, and Flatiron Books published the resulting cookbook with more than one hundred recipes. The book emphasizes practical combinations of fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and grains while allowing room for cooked components, so its approach is broader than strictly uncooked food. Before developing the series, Miller ran Sidesaddle Kitchen, a California business specializing in uncooked vegan desserts. Her work uses humor and direct explanation to make unfamiliar ingredients and techniques less intimidating. The cookbook’s sections move from breakfasts and snacks to main dishes, desserts, and drinks, connecting the concise format of her videos with a fuller kitchen reference. Raw. Vegan. Not Gross. is therefore both her debut cookbook and the clearest extension of her work as a recipe developer and food presenter.
