Marvin Dana pursued journalism, playwriting, and fiction in the United States, playwright, and novelist whose popular fiction often grew from theatrical or screen material. Within the Law is his prose adaptation of Bayard Veiller’s successful play, a crime drama about Mary Turner and the social machinery surrounding poverty, prosecution, and revenge.
