About this book
Cuchulain, the Hound of Ulster is by Eleanor Hull. Cuchulain is quoted as saying that though the span of his life were but for a day, little should he reck of that, if but his noble deeds might be remembered among men. Meave asks the magician whether those in her host will return alive, and the magician answers that they might return, but that a little boy is seen who stands upon the way to hinder them.
Cuchulain takes his rest in deep peace and slumber, and for three days and nights he stirs not once, while fairy-folk bring magic herbs to soothe and heal him and Lugh sits at his right hand, guarding his rest. A vision raised before Cuchulain's eyes shows battle-troops and marshalled lines standing round Emain, with chariots, steeds and weapons in great plenty.
