About this book
Evidence is by Murray Leinster. The narrator's pony jogs listlessly along without interest or animation on a hot day, in what the narrator calls a peculiarly Texan atmosphere. The narrator comes upon Jimmy Calton standing by the open hood of what is called a tin lizzy, holding a sooted spark-plug in a cloth.
Asked where he is going, the man says he is going over to see the coroner, because folks are saying Harry Temple shot Abe Martin and have him locked up. The first witness is the cook, who discovered the body of his employer dead on the floor of the hall, shot through the heart. Jimmy pulls a revolver out of his pocket and says that Harkness told the truth, but there is only one place from which all those things can be seen.
