About this book
The History of the 2nd Dragoons, by Edward Almack, identifies its subject as the Royal Scots Greys and announces forty-four illustrations. The account records the Greys landing in England on January 12th, 1816, and joining the depot at Canterbury on the 14th. The Regiment returns to England through Bristol in May, 1821, marches to Birmingham and Coventry, and attends the coronation of King George IV in July.
An order permits blood to be taken from the horses whenever the commanding officers of troops think fit, leaving the decision to those officers. Instructions for a parade for divine service require second clothing and new hats, with every man responsible for his present hat until further orders.
