About this book
The Life of Flavius Josephus is a work by Flavius Josephus, translated by William Whiston. The text says the family from which the writer is derived is not an ignoble one, but hath descended all along from the priests. A letter in the text, from Jonathan and those with him to Josephus, says We require thee to come to us to the village Gabaroth, on the third day.
The writer tells of foreseeing that the end of such a war would be most unfortunate to us. A footnote speaks of an eminent example of the care of the Jews about their genealogies, especially as to the priests.
