About this book

The Little Dream is an allegory in six scenes by John Galsworthy. The list of characters names Seelchen, a mountain girl, and Lamond, a climber. Seelchen is eighteen years old and is humming a folk-song, with an oil lamp burning.

Lamond says he has come to go up the Great Horn at sunrise. Seelchen, awed, calls the Great Horn impossible, and Lamond says, "I am going to try that." The characters in the dream include the Great Horn, the Cow Horn, the Wine Horn, the Edelweiss and the Alpenrose. The Peak of the Great Horn speaks in a far-away voice that grows clearer and stronger with the light.
