About this book
A Bit O' Love is a play by John Galsworthy and belongs to the fourth series of plays. The scene is a village of the west, and the action passes on Ascension Day. Strangway says it isn't enough to love people because they're good to you, or because in some way or other you're going to get something by it, and that we have to love because we love loving.
Gladys asks what Pagans is, and Strangway says that the first Christians called the people who lived in the villages and were not yet Christians by that name. In the village talk, Freman says, "Act of a coward, I zay," and Burlacombe says the curate ain't no coward. Ivy says she once asked Mrs. Strangway, who said it was a man who forgave everything.
