About this book
Warren Commission (07 of 26), Hearings Vol. VII, is a volume of hearings before the President's Commission on the Assassination of President Kennedy. A witness is asked whether he solemnly swears that the testimony he is about to give will be the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
The testimony of Joe Marshall Smith was taken on July 23, 1964, in the office of the U.S. attorney in Dallas, Tex., by Mr. Wesley J. Liebeler, assistant counsel of the President's Commission. Mr. Ball tells Mr. Carroll that his testimony will be written up by the shorthand reporter and that he has the privilege of looking it over and making any corrections and signing it, if he wishes, and Mr. Carroll says he will sign it. Mr. Ball asks Mr. Leavelle who picked the men for the showup, and Mr. Leavelle says he does not know. Mr. Leavelle also says that for that showup they had gotten two of the officers, he believes, who work in the vice squad.
