Before the rapping there was cooking. Ariyan Arslani worked the line at his father's restaurant in Forest Hills, Queens, and hosted a web series called Action in the Kitchen. A broken leg in that kitchen pushed him fully into music, and as Action Bronson he put out Dr. Lecter independently in 2011 and the major-label Mr. Wonderful in 2015. Born in Flushing in 1983, he arrived to an Albanian father and an American Jewish mother, and later fronted the Viceland travel food programme F*ck, That's Delicious. The 2017 book carrying that name, written with the food journalist Rachel Wharton and photographed by Gabriele Stabile, came from Abrams. It sets around forty recipes beside notes on his family table, his touring and his eating abroad, and it won an IACP award for cookbook design.
