Vanessa Kimbell is a baker, writer, and educator who founded the Sourdough School in Northamptonshire. The Sourdough School brings her teaching to home bakers through explanations of starters, fermentation, flour, dough development, and bread schedules. Kyle Books first published the volume in 2018, with photography by Nassima Rothacker and a foreword by Richard Hart. Kimbell's approach links practical baking technique with research on digestibility and the gut microbiome. Her later books include The Sourdough School: Sweet Baking and The Sourdough School Proven, extending the same combination of recipes, fermentation practice, and nutritional inquiry.
