About this book

A Family Man is a play in three acts by John Galsworthy. The cast list names John Builder of the firm of Builder & Builder, his wife Julia, and his elder daughter Athene and younger daughter Maud.

A character named Builder says that he is to be nominated for Mayor next month and that he can make a thundering good Mayor. Maud says that she has a film face and has always wanted to earn her own living. Builder reads a galley slip, shows signs of uneasiness and discomfort, reaches for the telephone and asks the Comet to give him the Editor.
