Jane Withersteen, a wealthy Mormon rancher, refuses to be pushed into a polygamous marriage and is punished by the men who control her town. Into her troubles rides Lassiter, a black-clad gunman hunting the grave of a woman whose fate has haunted him for years and the men responsible for it. As Jane’s cattle begin to vanish and the pressure mounts, old loyalties fracture and violence closes in.
