About this book
Sam, This Is You is a book by Murray Leinster. The opening says it could have happened to almost anybody, say a telephone lineman for the Batesville and Rappahannock Telephone Company who happened to be engaged to Rosie.
Sam Yoder, up a telephone pole, hears a voice on the receiver say that it is calling from the twelfth of July. The voice says it is July twelfth where it is and July second where Sam is, up a pole by Bridge's Run. A bank robbery takes place in which the men in the get-away car had departed with thirty-five thousand dollars, and the bankrobbers had shot out the telephone cable out of town with a shotgun. Sam is shown in the twelfth of July talking to himself on the telephone, and Rosie grabs him and weeps.
