About this book
The Secret of Divine Civilization is a work by ʻAbdu'l-Bahá. The writer says it seemed necessary, for the sake of God alone, to put down a brief statement on certain urgent questions. The writer says that His name has been withheld to show that His one purpose is to promote the general welfare. The text says peace is the pretext for piling up more weapons of war.
The text says that more weapons of war are piled up and that to pay for this a wretched people must sacrifice most of whatever they are able to earn by their sweat and toil. The text says that if methods whose many uses and advantages have demonstrably resulted in the glory and greatness of the state were abandoned for no valid reason and other methods of reform attempted, many years would go by, and many lives.
