About this book

The Story of Glass by Sara Ware Bassett carries a dedication to G. C., a patient listener and a helpful critic, as a reminder of many happy hours spent together in the Old World. The contents list names, among others, chapters called A Friendly Feud, Giusippe Tells a Story and Uncle Bob Enlarges His Party.

One scene has Mr. Bob Cabot start, followed by the line "Tom Curtis here!" Aboard a steamer that has left Liverpool harbor, a girl crosses the deck and the text names her Miss Ethel Cartright of New York, Giusippe's beautiful lady of Venice. Jean is shown smiling down at someone and adding that she has wired Uncle Bob that she is going to postpone her visit.
