Gesine Bullock-Prado is a pastry chef, baker, teacher, and cookbook author whose work emphasizes the craft behind imaginative desserts. Pie It Forward ranges beyond familiar fruit pies to tarts, tortes, galettes, savory preparations, and varied pastry shells. Stewart, Tabori & Chang published the cookbook in 2012 with photographs by Tina Rupp and the fuller subtitle Pies, Tarts, Tortes, Galettes, and Other Pastries Reinvented. Bullock-Prado has operated a Vermont bakery and taught baking, while her other books include Sugar Baby and My Life from Scratch.
