About this book

The House of Arden is a time-travel fantasy by E. Nesbit, published in 1908. Edred and Elfrida Arden, heirs to a poor and crumbling old family, learn that a hidden treasure may restore their house, and with the help of a magical white creature called the Mouldiwarp they journey back into the England of past centuries to seek it. Their travels take them through the reigns of kings and into real dangers of history, all told with Nesbit's mixture of humour, adventure, and affection for the past. It was followed by a companion book, Harding's Luck. This free PDF and EPUB offers the complete story.
