9 “A preguiça é uma característica dos negros” John R. O’Donnell, Trumped!: The
Inside Story of the Real Donald Trump — His Cunning Rise and Spectacular Fall
(Nova York: Simon & Schuster, 1991). O’Donnell é o ex-presidente do Trump Plaza
Hotel and Casino em Atlantic City. Em suas memórias, ele citou uma crítica de Trump
a um contador negro: “Sujeitos negros contando meu dinheiro! Detesto isso. As
únicas pessoas que quero contando meu dinheiro são caras baixos usando quipás
todos os dias… Acho que esse sujeito é preguiçoso. E provavelmente não é culpa
dele, porque a preguiça é uma característica dos negros. É mesmo, acredito nisso.
Não é algo que possam controlar.” Inicialmente, Trump negou ter dito isso, mas
depois disse a um repórter da Playboy: “O que O’Donnell escreveu sobre mim
