the WWU University of Münster in 1998. From 1999 to August 2011, he was a

researcher at the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) in Mannheim

with special focus on the property markets, capital-based pension provisions,

capital development and capital policy questions. In 2011 he became chief

economist at BASF SE and remains a Research Fellow at the ZEW.
