A. 1. My enemies have been humiliated. 2. I have been asked a
favor (use on construction). 3. I was accosted one day by a friend. 4.
The watch was repaired by the watchmaker. 5. She was covered
with confusion. 6. You have been fooled by somebody. 7. This
menagerie is managed by my wife. 8. I have been charged with the
matter[1] by my husband. 9. The collection of wild animals has been
enlarged. 10. An opening has been made in the wall. 11. The door
was opened by a servant. 12. A new word has been invented. 13.
She had taken charge of the menagerie. 14. All my mistakes are
exposed. 15. The plowman was beaten. 16. The guest was well
treated. 17. No bread was served to him. 18. I was not struck by
lightning. 19. It is said that he had many enemies. 20. This watch will
have to be fixed.

B. Word Study. In the following anecdote, substitute equivalents for
words in italics:
