• Os homens devem ser advertidos de que pode haver dano genético em

espermatozoides de sêmen coletado após o início da quimioterapia.

• Em crianças, os métodos estabelecidos para a preservação de fertilidade

devem ser utilizados quando apropriados, mediante parecer favorável e

consentimento dos pais ou guardiões.

 

Conclusão

 

Com o aumento da sobrevida dos pacientes com câncer, o esforço em

proporcionar qualidade de vida aos sobreviventes deve ser considerado uma

prioridade para todos os profissionais envolvidos no tratamento multimodal

do câncer.

Acreditamos que a disseminação do conhecimento em oncofertilidade,

bem como a abordagem do tema de forma oficial e sistemática, em

programas de residência médica e formação profissional, contribuirão para

a mudança das práticas vigentes e para que esses pacientes vivam mais e

melhor.
